In the 30's as new airplanes fly higher and higher and over increasingly distant routes, many US Air Force pilots, dazzled by the solar light, suffer from frequent headaches and a sense of dizziness. To overcome this problem, a new type of eyewear is introduced with green lenses able to eliminate reflections without obscuring the view. Thus the Ray-Ban brand was born.
